Ole Mr. Bubs Grubs

A very special Corgi

Ole Mr. Bubs Grubs lives on the farmer's farm, where he keeps him safe from harm with his loud bark. He loves treats, naps, warm beds and watching the fairies of the forest dance each night. He hates baths, though. Ole Mr. Bubs Grubs might be an old dog, but he's got lots of new tricks. 

The Fairies

Keepers of the forest

Living in the fairy forest, fairies love nothing more than to dance and since all day. They're a bit smaller than other creatures so they sometimes get picked on. Fairies don't like to be mean because bringing happiness to others is the best way they can bring joy to themselves. 

The Monster

Gary?

No one knows the name of the monster, but some fairies have taken to calling him "Gary." He's not a very nice creature and likes to bully the fairies because they're smaller than him. He especially likes to be mean to fairies because they're happiness makes him feel sad. Maybe he just needs a hug from his Mama?

A Children's Book About

Bravery

This book is about Ole Mr. Bubs Grubs learning to be brave. The most important form of bravery is when we are brave for others and our brave little corgi has to learn how to stand up for his friends.

Kindness

Being kind is one of the central themes of this book. Maybe it's just my midwestern upbringing, but it's my belief that kindness is the most important thing we can teach our children. The world would be a better place if we spent more time rewarding kindness.

Corgi Ears

Ever wonder how corgis got their big ears? This book answers the question that you've probably be losing sleep over all of the years! We're still trying to figure out where they get their majestic chest floofs from, though.

Tyler Barnes

Author and Storyteller

Tyler Barnes is a children's book author and digital marketing professional. He writes children's books whenever he feels like being a kid again. Tyler lives in Kansas City. He and his wife, Fran, have a son, Bruce, and two corgis who rule their life, Rufio and Brock Lee. 

 

Sarah Burns

Illustrator and Magic Maker

Sarah Burns has dreamed of illustrating a children's book since she was reading them as a child herself. Now, she is a graphic designer and illustrator and hopes to read Ole Mr. Bubs Grubs to her own children some day.

Oh my goodness. I love this book! Mr. Bubs Grubs made friends with fairies that live in a forest near him. When the fairies start getting bullied, Mr. Bubs Grubs has to be brave to stand up for them and save his friends. He’s scared, but he learns to be brave and is able to help them. It’s a sweet book, with a great message for kids. On top of the message, the illustrations are spectacular!
